Rabbitohs Today

The current players, coaches and committee continue to honour those before us in the way we play and embrace the rugby community and beyond.

South Darwin Rugby Union Club prides itself on being the best we can and the Committee and Club volunteers are working hard to ensure we are a financially viable club that attracts the best people on and off the field.

We attract good people, who want to not only play well, but also represent our Club and Community with pride and do the very best for themselves and their families

We want to build the biggest Membership base of any sporting club in the Northern Territory and encourage all Territorians, past Players, Volunteers, Sponsors, Local businesses and rugby fans to support our Club by becoming a Member.

We strive for excellence, and are very focused on building our Club to be a Club that is a model of best practice not only within the Rugby competition but also other regional sporting clubs.

Head Coach – Tim Atikinson

As part of the Committee’s plans to build and grow the Club, the Club recruited former Australian 7s captain, QLD Reds and ACT Brumbies representative player Tim Atkinson in 2012. Tim’s involvement has already seen the Club’s players develop and grow to be more focussed and dedicated in achieving success. 2014 will be the third year for Tim and it is shaping to be a very competitive senior side.

Club Ambassador – Nathan Sharpe

The Club’s Vice President James de Dassel was pivotal in recruiting former Wallabies captain Nathan Sharpe. Nathan has joined the Club as our Ambassador and will be actively involved on and off the field in helping the Rabbitohs performance. Nathan Sharpe is pursuing business interests in the NT through his labour hire company, SES Labour Solutions. He will also be involved in a number of the Club’s corporate events.
