Wallaroos selection for former South Darwin
Congratulations to former South Darwin Rugby Union 10’s players, Caroline Vakalahi and Mollie Gray who have been selected in the Australian women’s Wallaroos team for the 2014 World Cup in France.
Both Caroline and Mollie played for Souths in the 2010 Women’s NTRU 10’s season and are currently playing with the Australian Services Rugby Union team. Whilst in Darwin they were both working in the Defence Force, but still managed to play a number of games for Souths, with Mollie playing most of the 2010 season and going on to win Best and Fairest in the same year.
Their selection follows solid performances in the 2013 National Women’s Rugby Championship in Sydney.
The South Darwin Women’s Rugby preparations are underway for this season with training to commence this Thursday 27 March, 6pm. Good luck to all our women players and we look forward to watching Souths promising players Ellerslie Hardwicke, and Rebecca Dunbar, both NT representative players.
